About
Abinara Anuraga is an Indonesian natural history camera operator with a deep passion for filmmaking and a love for exploring the wilderness off-grid around the world. He began his career in 2015 as a Director of Photography for commercial videos and advertisements, where he honed his understanding of cinematography and gained experience working with advanced equipment. In 2019, Abinara made his debut in the wildlife film industry by filming sequences for the Netflix series Our Great National Parks. His work earned him the Best Cinematography from Critic Choice Awards alongside his fellow camera operators.
Over the past two years, Abinara has travelled all over Asia filming for an upcoming BBC landmark series. His journey took him to incredible places like Indonesia, Nepal, and Malaysia. Along the way, he got support from the BBC Project Songbird, which allowed him to get some really useful training in the UK. He learned how to operate the GSS (Gyro-Stabilised Systems) and even got certified in First Aid for remote locations. With all this experience under his belt, Abinara is excited about the possibility of new adventures and capturing stories from all corners of the world.

Had a great opportunity to work as a camera operator on multiple sequences such as Sumatran Tiger, Sumatran Slow Loris, Sumatran Orangutan, Thomas Leaf Monkey, and various GVs of Episode 5: Gunung Leuser National Park.

ASIA (2024)
Had a fantastic opportunity to film 6 out of 9 sequences for the Jungle episode, along with some additional GVs across Asia. I also enjoyed a decent number of working hours using modern and advanced technology, including a GSS, drone, camera traps, and a long lens.
